Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC)

Recycled Polyvinyl Chloride (rPVC) is PVC plastic recovered and reprocessed from post-industrial or post-consumer waste. It is one of the most durable and long-lasting thermoplastics, making it highly suitable for recycling and reuse, especially in rigid applications.

Benefits of Using Recycled PVC:

  • Durable & Long Life – Maintains properties through multiple recycling cycles
  • Cost-Effective – Lower cost than virgin PVC
  • Highly Sustainable – Can be recycled up to 8–10 times
  • Mechanical Strength Maintained – Especially in rigid PVC

Challenges / Limitations:

  • Additive Variation – Plasticizers, stabilizers, and fillers may vary in recyclates
  • Color Limitation – Darker shades (grey, black) are more common
  • Odor or Contamination – From poorly sorted or washed material
  • Not Suitable for high-purity or medical applications unless certified
