Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)

It is a polyethylene grade known for its excellent flexibility, toughness, and stress crack resistance. When recycled, it becomes Recycled LLDPE (rLLDPE), used in various cost-sensitive and non-critical applications.

Advantages of Using Recycled LLDPE:

  • High Flexibility & Strength – Better puncture and tear resistance than recycled LDPE
  • Eco-Friendly – Reduces plastic pollution and resource consumption
  • Cost-Effective – Less expensive than virgin LLDPE
  • Blending Capability – Can be mixed with LDPE, HDPE, or fillers to modify properties
  • Wide Availability – Due to the heavy use of LLDPE films in packaging and agricultur

Limitations / Challenges:

  • Quality Variation – Depends on source and level of contamination
  • Color Limitations – Typically grey, black, or mixed color (natural grade is rare)
  • Odor or Residue – Possible in low-grade PCR material
  • Not suitable for high-performance or food-contact applications (unless certified)
