Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a soft, flexible, and lightweight thermoplastic used in film applications, plastic bags, liners, and squeeze bottles. When recycled, LDPE is collected, cleaned, and reprocessed into new raw material — Recycled LDPE (rLDPE) — for secondary manufacturing.

Advantages of Using Recycled LDPE:

Eco-Friendly – Reduces plastic waste and carbon footprint

Cost-Effective – Cheaper than virgin LDPE resin

Flexible Processing – Suitable for extrusion, film blowing, injection molding

Versatile – Useful in low-stress and non-critical applications

Challenges / Limitations:

Lower Mechanical Properties than virgin LDPE

Contaminants such as ink, paper, or food residues may affect quality

Odor may be present in some PCR grades

Color – Natural or light colors are more valuable; mixed color often used for black/dark applications

Moisture Sensitivity – Needs proper drying before processing
